Hagoos invites you to discover Gipuzkoa from the inside: The "Market route" is an immersion in Basque tradition and culture seen through rural life and the most famous and traditional markets of the Tolosaldea and Goierri regions (Gipuzkoa).
You’ll visit the main farmers’ markets in Tolosa (on Saturdays) and Ordizia (on Wednesdays), where producers come along every week with their best seasonal fare, ready to sell the finest local produce.
Who has never heard of Idiazabal cheese? Visit the Idiazabal Cheese Museum to see how the shepherds made cheese in days gone by and how it’s made today. You can taste it too and see what you think of the result for yourself! After your visit to the museum, we invite you to Iztueta Farmhouse, a dairy farm in Lazkaomendi. As well as visiting the animals, you can milk the cows and see how products are made from healthy fresh milk.
And what better way to end your adventure steeped in Basque tradition and culture than a visit to a cider house! In Zerain, a small rural village in the Goierri region, we’ll take you to a pretty cider house where you can enjoy a traditional menu.
An outing to learn about the ancient Basque crafts and trades and enjoy a day in the countryside.
