Hagoos organized the social program for the 1st UNWTO – BCC World Forum on Food Tourism in San Sebastian
- The forum, promoted by both the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Basque Culinary Center, took place last April for the first time in San Sebastian.
- Attendees coming from all around the world, had the opportunity to discover the culture, tradition and the Basque cuisine through a variety of tourism experiences on April 29
Hagoos, a local DMC based in San Sebastian, was selected to design the social program of the First World Forum on Food Tourism, which was held from 27 to 29 April this year in the Basque Culinary Center.
It is increasingly common to combine tourism and gastronomy and therefore, the social program designed for the event, sought to convey aspects of Basque culture linked to the tradition and the gastronomy. Participants had the opportunity to visit the Ordizia market, the land of Idiazabal cheese, etc. A careful selection of the plans that best represent our food culture.
In addition, for those participants who wanted to extend their stay in the city, Hagoos offered a wide range of plans and tourism experiences throughout Euskadi for the days before and after the meeting.
During the Forum, various experts reflected on the current situation and the challenges of culinary tourism, with the aim of promoting the professional development of the sector, exchange of experiences and identification of good practices worldwide.
This meeting was held thanks to the work of the Basque Culinary Center and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in collaboration with Basquetour, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and City Hall Donostia-San Sebastián.
