Would you like to visit the hearth of the Basque Country and its gastronomy? Hagoos offers you the chance to discover it every Wednesday during the summer months (July, August and September) through the half-day tours we organize in the inland region of Goierri.
Goierri is the perfect example of a modern region whose inhabitants have maintained and continued its traditions. Good example of this is Ordizia’s market, the most important weekly market of the Basque Country, which has more than 500 years of history (taking place every Wednesday since 1512) and where the visitant can get products of the soil, fresh and seasonal. Besides the market, in Ordizia D’elikatuz museum it’s also visited. Here the visitant has the opportunity to learn more about this little, green and mountainous region.
Moreover we are visiting Idiazabal, the town who lends its name to the popular cheese of the Basque Country, Idiazabal Cheese. The tourist has the chance to visit a traditional Idiazabal cheese factory where the shepherd explains his lifestyle and the elaboration process of this delicious typical product. Finally the tour finishes in the Idiazabal Cheese museum where a tasting of local products it offered to the visitant.
