Swiss Air has recently opened a new direct connection between Zurich & Bilbao. This new flight, which will operate three days a week, has started with great numbers reaching a 88% occupation (with nearly 2300 passengers) on the first month.

To make the most of the “new directly connected by plane cities”, the Basque Country’s Tourism Board is presenting the destination as a top tourism option either for leisure or business travelers. Therefore, last week a group of private companies (local DMC’s & hotels) flew to Zurich, together with the main regional tourism boards, to meet Swiss travel agencies interested in new destinations.

Hagoos – Your Basque Country DMC, had the oppotunity to talk to different travel agents most of them with a great interest in the Basque Country’s culture and its possibilies for incentive programs & event celebration. The act was held in the very heart of Zurich, at the  Zunfthaus zur Waag, where the Spanish Ambassador Welcomed the attendees together with the Basque Country’s Tourism Vice-Councillor of Commerce and Tourism, Itziar Epalza, who gave a short but precise view of the best of the Basque region.
